Most therapists turn to clinical supervision to get their answers, but this can amount to very good...bad advice. Supervisors are trained to augment your clinical work, and often do not have the experience and knowledge to advise your professional practice decisions. They do their best, but are often passing down advice given to them, rather than having a full understanding of original source law, regulation, jurisdictional requirements, standards and ethics and many other non-clinical concerns.

Our self-paced non-clinical professional practice mini course.
Your Master's degree teaches Clinical Practice, but it cannot teach Professional Practice. Why? Your institution and professors are from many jurisdictions and have many professional designations. So they earnestly teach what they know, failing to ensure students can identify these landmarks for themselves in their own jurisdictions and professions. This leaves clinicians floundering, sometimes for years, only to find out they were making inappropriate professional decisions, not knowing where to turn for correct information.
